The September 2022 arrival of a plethora of electric vehicles.

Electric cars coming soon

The government has mandated that all new vehicles be electric by 2030, and sales of electric vehicles are increasing.

True enough, 20% of all new vehicle sales this year have been plug-in hybrids and completely electric cars, with registrations of totally electric models up 50% compared to the same time in 2021.

While government subsidies and the rising cost of conventional fuels have helped boost electric vehicle sales, the tremendous improvement in range and performance of modern electric vehicles has also played a significant role. The finest players today are exceptional in every facet of the game, and they’re just becoming better.

In this slideshow, we’ll walk you through what’s coming and when it’s coming in terms of electric vehicles, which is helpful information if you’re considering turning green.

1. Kia Niro EV

Kia Niro EV

The second-generation Niro, like its before, will be available as a hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and all-electric vehicle. The completely electric version of the Kia Niro, now designated the Kia Niro EV rather than the e-Niro, is driven by a 201bhp electric motor and fuelled by a 64.8kWh battery, resulting in an official range of 287 miles.

2. Mercedes EQE

Mercedes EQE

Competing with the likes of the BMW i4 and the Tesla Model 3 is no easy challenge, but the Mercedes EQE seems to have the ability to give them a hard test. It has a maximum range of 410 miles and can add 155 miles of range in only 15 minutes when charging from a public charger that is capable of generating at least 170 kilowatts of power. The 141-centimeter-wide ‘Hyperscreen’ display dashboard is another standout feature.

3. MG 4

MG 4

The MG 4 will be one of the least expensive electric vehicles on the market, but it is well-designed, has plenty of interior space, and, if you choose for the Long Range model, can go up to 281 miles before needing a recharge. Both the Cupra Born and the Volkswagen ID 3 are more refined and practical than the base model, but they also cost much more.

4. Ora Cat 01

Ora Cat 01

The Ora Cat 01 may be the vehicle that finally breaks the British public’s resistance to Chinese automobiles. It’s a competitor to other retro-styled electric hatchbacks like the Fiat 500, Honda E, and Mini Electric, although it has a higher stated range (up to 261 miles) and offers better practicality (thanks to rear doors) than the others. Prices will likely start at roughly $25,000.

E-Tech Renault Megane
The Renault Megane E-Tech, the successor to the current Megane hatchback, will be available only as an electric vehicle and has SUV-inspired design. The stated range for the 129 hp model is 186 miles, while the 215 hp model has an even greater improvement, up to 292 miles.

6. BMW iX1

The BMW iX1 is the company’s smallest and most affordably priced electric SUV to date, and it’s based on the next-gen BMW X1. It boasts a strong 308bhp thanks to its two electric motors (one on each axle for four-wheel drive) and can go from 0 to 62 mph in only 5.7 seconds. But the most essential statistic is range, and the official number is 272 miles, which is better than the base model Audi Q4 e-tron.

7. Citroën e-C4 X

The Citron e-C4 X is a saloon variant of the hatchback, and it is around 240mm longer than its sister. This increased length allows for an additional 130 liters of storage capacity in the trunk. However, the 134 hp motor and 50 kWh battery pack that power the e-C4 are also included in the X. Because of its more aerodynamic rear end, the X’s stated range is somewhat greater than that of the e-C4 (219 miles against 220).

8. Lexus RZ

The Lexus RZ is the first unique electric vehicle from the Japanese luxury brand, and although its 536 horsepower electric motors and 250-mile range are impressive, the yoke-style steering wheel is the real show-stopper. According to Lexus, 25% of consumers will choose for them because they provide greater input than traditional wheels and provide a better view of the vehicle’s instruments.

9. Volkswagen ID Buzz

The vintage styling of the Volkswagen ID Buzz MPV is clearly inspired by the Volkswagen Microbus of the 1950s. And although it will start off with only five seats, subsequent models will expand to accommodate as many as eight passengers. Volkswagen also claims that the steering wheel will disappear into the center console while the vehicle is in autonomous mode (although, again, not at launch).

10. Smart #1

Smart #1

The first Smart SUV will have a range of almost 300 miles thanks to an 86kWh battery. The majority of the vehicle’s operations are handled by a 12.8-inch touchscreen, while a digital assistant handles things like adjusting the temperature and selecting a new radio station. In addition to the standard key, you may utilize your phone as an alternative method of entry.
