Prices for the Maruti Grand Vitara have leaked online: should be less expensive than the Hyundai Creta

Maruti Suzuki introduced the Grand Vitara mid-size SUV a week ago, and pricing are likely to be revealed in early September, when the vehicle will be formally launched. The FinancialExpress seems to have revealed costs for the Maruti Grand Vitara before to its official presentation. However, we cannot guarantee the veracity of the disclosed pricing.

As the leaked prices indicate, the entry-level mild hybrid Sigma trim of the Grand Vitara will start at Rs. 9.5 lakh ex-showroom, making the SUV cheaper than the best selling Hyundai Creta.

Creta prices begin at Rs. 10.44 lakh. Notably, Maruti Suzuki used a similar tactic with the S-Cross, which was priced substantially cheaper than the Creta. Notably, in Maruti Suzuki’s NEXA lineup, the Grand Vitara replaces the S-Cross. The Grand Vitara is currently available for reservation at all NEXA dealerships.

According to pricing leaks, the mild hybrid engined Grand Vitara would be available in 5 grades and 8 variations. Aside from the Sigma trim, manual gearbox variations will be available in the Delta, Zeta, Alpha, and Alpha AWD trims. The 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission will be available on the Zeta and Alpha models. The manual models will have a 5-speed transmission. Both transmissions will be available with the 1.5 liter-4 cylinder K15C petrol engine (102 Bhp-135 Nm).

VariantPrice
Zeta PlusRs 17.50 lakh
Alpha PlusRs 18.50 lakh

The Grand Vitara Strong Hybrid will be available in two trim levels: Zeta Plus and Alpha Plus, with prices starting at Rs. 17 lakh and Rs. 18 lakh, respectively. The Grand Vitara’s Strong Hybrid powertrain is a 1.5 liter Toyota-sourced petrol engine (91 Bhp-122 Nm) combined with an electric motor (78 Bhp-141 Nm). The front wheels are driven by a CVT automatic transmission with five stepped shifts.

Maruti Suzuki has revealed the extensive equipment levels on the top-of-the-line Grand Vitara via the launch. The widest panoramic sunroof in the class, ventilated seats, 360-degree camera, all-wheel drive, full-electric mode, and remarkable fuel economy of roughly 28 Kmpl in the strong hybrid are just a few of the important aspects of the forthcoming SUV. If Maruti Suzuki is able to price the Grand Vitara at the levels suggested by these leaked figures, it will be a major winner.

Meanwhile, Toyota will debut the Hyryrder Urban Cruiser SUV in India on August 16th. Except for the appearance and badging, the Hyryder and Grand Vitara are identical SUVs. Both SUVs will be manufactured at Toyota’s Bidadi plant in Bengaluru. The Hyryder’s starting pricing should give us a good idea of what to anticipate from the Grand Vitara.
