Kia’s Most Powerful Model Ever Hits the Market, Packing Almost 600 HP

You can count on a Kia to be reasonably priced. Recently, though, the automaker has shifted its emphasis from price alone. However, the Kia EV6 GT is indicative of the brand’s shift toward emphasizing power. The EV6 GT also has the greatest power of any Kia model, clocking in at just under 600 hp.

Kia has a cutting-edge appearance on the inside and exterior.

If you thought the conceptual images of Kia’s EV6 GT were all in your head, you’d be incorrect. While opinions on the EV6 GT’s aesthetic may vary, the car’s creators and purchasers can both agree that it’s unique. It’s cutting-edge without coming off as rigid, assertive without resorting to violence, and exhilarating without becoming overwhelming. In general, the EV6 GT features the kind of stylish appearance and unique angles that have made the crossover market so popular.

The thoughtful interior caters to the driver without compromising comfort for the passengers. The mode selector is located in a “floating” center console. Furthermore, it has two large storage bins, cupholders, and a cooled wireless charging pad for a smartphone.

The vegan suede interior of the EV6 GT conceals two 12.3-inch curved infotainment panels that would make any resident of Silicon Valley blush. The Kia’s Augmented Reality head-up display is used to project GPS directions right onto the windshield.

Each seat, front and back, may be adjusted to either heat or air conditioning. There are also more than a dozen active driver safety and assistance systems available across all EV6 trims.

Effectiveness of the Kia EV6 GT
The Kia EV6 GT’s most notable feature is unquestionably its abnormally high levels of power. Kia claims the EV6 GT is designed to compete with the Lamborghini Huracan and the Ferrari Roma, but you wouldn’t know it from looking at it next to them at Monterey Car Week.

A total of 576 hp and 546 lb-ft of torque are available to the driver thanks to the 77.4 kWh battery that powers the two motors (one front at 160 kW and one at 270 kW). The automobile has a curb weight of nearly 4,500 pounds, yet it can still reach 60 miles per hour in an astounding 3.4 seconds. These specs put it ahead of the Lambo and the Ferrari, and it does it in a Kia, which can reach 161 miles per hour.

However, it is not designed only for use in pulling on the highway or making blazing starts from stoplights. Kia’s electronic Limited Slip Differential (e-LSD) improves traction and stability by intelligently vectoring torque in the corners, and the sport-tuned suspension with electronically controlled dampers contributes to the car’s improved handling.

Putting a charge into a Kia EV6 GT.

Since most people who are looking to purchase an EV are concerned about their range and the ability to charge their battery. Concerns about plug-in vehicles are addressed with the Kia EV6 GT. The 800V fast-charging capability allows drivers to fully recharge their batteries in under 18 minutes when using 350kW charging stations.

The EV6 GT has exceptional power numbers, but they come with a catch. According to InsideEvs, its 310-mile-per-charge range is much shorter than that of the cheaper, single-motor EV6 vehicles by about 100 miles.

When can we expect to buy an EV6 GT?
As of right now, you may place a pre-order for an EV6 GT, with deliveries beginning at the year’s end. While exact numbers are not yet available, Car and Driver estimates that the base price of the dual-motor GT trim level will be close to $70,000.

As a bonus, the EV6 GT comes with Kia’s free electricity. According to Kia, purchasers will get a $1,000 credit enough for three years’ worth of charging at Electrify America stations.
